ESWP: Society Information: Annual Banquet
The Engineers’ Society of Western Pennsylvania Board of Directors along with Honorary Co-Chairs, Stephen Tritch, Chairman of Westinghouse Electric Company and Alex Sciulli, President of RJ Lee Group, invites you to attend our 126th Annual Banquet on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the Heinz Field's East Club Lounge, Pittsburgh, PA. The evening begins with a social hour at 5:30 pm (Cash Bar Reception), followed by a gourmet dinner at 6:30 pm. Following dinner, join Master of Ceremonies and 2010 ESWP President, Deborah A. Lange, Ph.D., P.E., for the Annual Awards Presentation of the Engineer and Project of the Year winners, and a special presentation of the 2010 William Metcalf Award. This special event will feature Dr. Robert Ballard as the Guest Speaker. Dr. Ballard is credited with locating the wreckage of the Titanic, and developing several technologies that aid in underwater exploration. Additionally, we will present Dr. William L. "Red" Whittaker with the 2010 William Metcalf Award. Dr. Whittaker is most notably the Director of the Field Robotics Center, Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. New for this year, we are working to obtain greater participation from the local colleges and high schools as a means to introduce the next generation to the engineering profession.
