Membership Updates:

There are two types of affiliated technical society memberships through ESWP, simply put: subscribing or non-subscribing. The basic difference is that some groups choose to receive our Pittsburgh ENGINEER magazine and e-TC, the online e-techniCALENDAR newsletter, while some do not. This is the only difference in the two categories. The Subscription Rates for subscribing members is a $200.00 annual dues fee, plus $2.00/subscription of the publications that are mailed directly to each individual. This subscription fee was last increased in 2002, and no additional increases are anticipated at this time. The annual fee for non-subscribing technical societies is $245.

Scope of Services:

• THE REFERRAL LINE (412-261-4300) where interested callers can be referred to current contacts within each group or society. This provides our affiliated members an opportunity to publish a consistent telephone number for your group's use. Additionally, this is a published telephone number maintained for each group by ESWP.

• A RESERVATION LINE, allowing ESWP to receive and process reservations for your events.

• ESWP'S RE-EMPLOYMENT SERVICES, a FREE service offered by ESWP on an ongoing basis to all unemployed members, and Affiliated Technical Societies members. These individuals are eligible to submit a resume and have a one paragraph summary of their qualifications published in the e-TC, the online e-techniCALENDAR - ESWP's monthly newsletter and calendar, and in the Pittsburgh ENGINEER, ESWP's quarterly publication. Potential employers contact ESWP to receive candidates' full resume.

• FREE PUBLICATION SPACE in our publications to promote your society to the engineering community. Our monthly newsletter, the e-techniCALENDAR, changed to an electronic based - the e-TC - publication in May 2002, and in addition to having a reminder emailed to all subscribing members, is available through web site www.eswp.com/techniCALENDAR. Additionally, a PDF copy available for downloading and printing. The Pittsburgh Engineer magazine, the quarterly publication is still direct mailed to all subscribers. We encourage you to submit news releases and event listings.

• USE OF THE WEB SITE hyperlink to your homepage to enhance your publicity.

• ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES, featuring full office services, inc. credit card processing, telephone answering, newsletter preparation, etc. These are fee-based services that some societies have looked at when volunteerism is harder to depend on to meet your needs.
