IWC 2010 Call for Papers

The 2009 International Water Conference® (IWC) returned to Orlando, Florida with over 540 attendees and more than 50 exhibiting companies, making the 70th Annual Conference a huge success! Attendees came from more than 39 States in the U.S., and 19 different countries, making it truly International.  Highlights of the Conference included the:

  • robust networking functions held inside the Exhibit Hall
  • highly rated Technical Sessions packed with attendees
  • the always popular Info-Share suites, and
  • several Continuing Education Workshops.

At the Keynote Session, IWC 2009 General Chairman Wayne Bernahl welcomed all attendees and introduced the Keynote Speaker David Klanecky, Global R&D Director for DOW Water Solutions. Klanecky spoke about the future of the water treatment industry then fielded numerous questions from an interested audience. Over the following two-and-a-half days, attendees could then participate in more than 20 different Technical Sessions on topics such as Zero Liquid Discharge, Power Plant FGD Systems, and Ion Exchange Technology. (For a detailed description of the Technical Sessions, Papers & Prepared Discussion, view our Program Guide.)  The training opportunities continued through Thursday afternoon, with several Continuing Education Workshops, each lasting 4 hours and providing detailed training on topics such as Produced Water, Cooling Water and Reverse Osmosis Systems.

On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday of the IWC, attendees were able to visit more than 50 exhibit displays and continue their learning experience. The Exhibit Hall was continually filled with attendees, making it a great networking stop—one Exhibitor reported that “there were too many attendees to talk to all at once”!

A very special thanks goes out to the IWC Executive Committee and Advisory Council for their support in planning another outstanding conference. They are already hard at work getting ready for the 71st Annual IWC, scheduled for San Antonio, Texas, October 24-28, 2010. We hope to see YOU there!
